Resources

Taking Fitness on the Run provides resources to help you get started and tips to make the best of your new adventure. You’ll also find a few personal stories, some recipes and articles mixed in to inspire and entertain along the way.

Real Life

I’m just like you! I share the same struggles with trying to balance work, family, relationships, and a semi-healthy lifestyle. I’ve found that running is my way of getting in the exercise that all the studies say we should do.  I run for the benefits and I run for myself. I’m not looking to be the next OLYMPIC runner and I’m ok with that!

My running story starts in 2012 or so when I was completely unhappy with the numbers on the scale.  I had never ran before and I started slowly just getting on the treadmill.  I ran my first 5k in March and later that year my first half marathon! Fast forward many years and my relationship with running has been off and on.  I ran a second half marathon in February 2014 and my third and fourth in 2017.  I’ve run a few 5ks and several mud runs! Those are so fun!

Running is just one facet of my life, meaning it’s NOT my life.  I also enjoy hiking (hard to do much of in Florida), traveling as much as possible, eating pasta (my kryptonite), dancing, enjoying time with friends (sometimes too much time!) and spending time with my two daughters.
